French online learning course: learn business French in 10-minute missions, free to start
Most French online learning courses teach you to order a coffee. This one teaches you to work in French: introduce yourself to a team, answer the phone, write a professional e-mail, follow a meeting, negotiate a deadline. It is built by Groupe École de Commerce de Lyon, a French business school group based in Lyon, for the international students, interns and professionals who arrive in France every year and need French for work, not for tourism.
The course is the French as a foreign language module of Edulingo, the group's language laboratory. Everything is explained in English, the phrases are in French with native audio, and you can start today without an account.
How the course works
Each mission takes ten minutes and matches one real situation: greeting colleagues, presenting yourself and your job, asking for directions in an office, making an appointment, understanding a price, handling a simple phone call, writing a first e-mail. A mission contains a real dialogue with native audio, the key phrases to repeat aloud, a corrected quiz, and a scene you play with the conversation partner. Spaced repetition then brings the phrases back until they come out without thinking.
The method is the one the school uses with its own students: ear first, then mouth, then writing. You listen, you repeat, you play the scene, and only then do you read the grammar note. Levels run from A0 (complete beginner) to C1 on the European framework; a free placement test, no account required, tells you where to start.

Why learn French with a business school
Because the situations are real. The dialogues come from what the school's students and partner companies actually live: a first day in a French office, a meeting where everyone speaks fast, a phone call with an administration, a client who expects politeness formulas you have never heard. The course also explains the codes: when to use « vous », how to open and close an e-mail, what a French colleague expects at lunch. A language school teaches French; a business school teaches French at work.
If you plan to study or create a business in France, the group's schools in Lyon welcome international candidates; the laboratory's French module is the first step, and it is free to begin.
